Course Description: In this elective, inspired by Stanford's d.school and melded with elements from our semester-long Intro. to Leadership elective, students have the opportunity to serve their school community, support student activities, and develop both personal and leadership skills. This course is a great introduction to the world of service and leadership in the broader community, along with being a great precursor to the year-long Leadership experience at the middle or high school levels. In addition to the commissions listed in the Intro. to Leadership semester elective, students are also introduced to the process of designing meaningful solutions to problems at a local, national, and global level. Our year-long Intro. to Leadership students are encouraged to think, create, and innovate with a focus on how to best empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and evaluate to improve not just their school, but also the world around them. Students will develop as leaders and organize school-wide activities and community service events. Each member should be a positive role model on campus.
